Reports

Profit & Loss (P&L)

The Profit & Loss report (also called the Income Statement) shows your revenue, expenses, and net profit for a selected period. Go to Reports → Profit & Loss and choose a date range — the picker offers presets (This/Last Week, This/Last Month, This Quarter, This/Last Year) or a Custom range, defaulting to month-to-date.

  • Revenue — total credits posted to revenue accounts.
  • Expenses — total debits posted to expense accounts, broken down by account.
  • Net Profit — Revenue minus Expenses. A positive number means your business made money in that period.

All figures reflect posted journal entries within the selected date range. Invoices in Draft status are not included.

Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet shows your financial position at a point in time: what you own (Assets), what you owe (Liabilities), and the net equity. Go to Reports → Balance Sheet and choose an as-of date.

  • Assets — bank balances, accounts receivable, equipment.
  • Liabilities — accounts payable, loans, payroll taxes owed.
  • Equity — Assets minus Liabilities. This equals accumulated retained earnings plus any owner contributions.
The fundamental accounting equation always holds: Assets = Liabilities + Equity. If your balance sheet doesn't balance, there is an unbalanced journal entry — check the Transactions ledger for entries where debits ≠ credits.

Cash Flow

The Cash Flow report tracks actual cash in and out during a period. Go to Reports → Cash Flow and choose a date range using the same preset/custom picker as P&L. It shows inflows (credits to cash/bank accounts) and outflows (debits to cash/bank accounts) and the net change in your cash position.

This differs from the P&L because it reflects when cash actually moved, not when revenue or expenses were recognized. For example, an invoice sent but not yet paid appears as revenue on the P&L but not as a cash inflow until it's paid.

Budget vs. Actuals

See the Budgets page for a full description of this report.

Consolidated (multi-entity)

If you have multiple organizations in RSA, the Consolidated report (available on the Enterprise plan) aggregates revenue, expenses, and balance sheet figures across all organizations you belong to. Go to Reports → Consolidated.

The report shows a per-entity summary table followed by consolidated totals. All amounts are displayed in each organization's own currency — cross-currency consolidation with conversion is not currently applied; amounts are summed as-is.

You must be a member of each organization, with a role that grants view access to Reports, to see it included in the consolidated view.
