Troubleshooting

Recover authoring work safely while keeping the Phase 1 boundary and privacy protections intact.

Unsaved changes and navigation prompts

If you try to leave a draft or policy with unsaved changes, choose Cancel to stay and save or review your edits. Choose Discard changes only when you are ready to leave those local edits behind. Discarding does not write a recovery draft or change the last saved revision.

Stale revision conflicts

If a saved draft or policy changed elsewhere, your local edits remain available and RS1 asks how to continue. Choose Reload latest saved revision to replace local state, Keep local copy to compare it manually, or Cancel to close the choice. Resolve the difference before saving again.

Missing or unavailable people and roles

Choose only people and product-role labels currently offered by the selected organization directory. If a previously selected target is missing or unavailable, refresh the selection, choose an eligible offered target, or ask an administrator to review organization membership, directory eligibility, and the needed Workflow grant. Do not paste an identifier or infer an unavailable target.

Incompatible template selector

For an organization default, a template matches the canonical default selector: organization-default scope, no document type, priority 0, and no conditions; the wizard's document, destination, and minimum amount do not narrow that match. For a condition-based override, the template must exactly match the configured document type, displayed destination, positive priority, and every condition. Return to the setup choices and select a compatible template, or start with Blank safe structure. A template with a different applicable selector cannot be forced into the draft.

Outdated safe-test evidence

Safe-test evidence becomes outdated after a relevant saved dependency changes, including the draft revision or content, selector, policy, template compatibility, directory eligibility, or active grants. Review the change, save the corrected authoring content, run a new synthetic safe test, then check readiness again. A newer failed run can be Latest while an earlier qualifying success remains Current only until a dependency changes.

Readiness blockers

Read the displayed readiness summary and resolve its authoring issue: validation problems, an incompatible template or destination, a changed policy reference, no qualifying Current safe-test evidence, an ineligible directory target, or a missing active Workflow grant. If Settings is absent in Preview, ask an administrator to confirm the binding, selected organization, and grant. Production remains unavailable until UAT is complete.

Archive an inactive workflow

Archive workflow is available only for a saved inactive workflow. Archiving is non-deleting: it retains the workflow as an inactive authoring record and does not erase it, activate it, publish it, execute it, or change another product’s records. Review the saved workflow carefully before archiving.

Why Publish is disabled

Publish — Available in Phase 2 remains disabled in Phase 1. A successful safe test or ready result is evidence for saved authoring content only; it does not publish, activate, execute, deliver notifications, assign approvals, delegate work, or convert records.

Contact an administrator safely

Tell an administrator the selected organization’s display name, the screen or action where you were blocked, and the time it occurred. Describe the on-screen message in your own words. Do not include source documents, personal details, raw diagnostics, copied identifiers, or hidden role information in a support request.

Phase 1 boundary: Troubleshooting restores safe Preview authoring work only. No recovery action enables publication, activation, execution, live approval delivery, notification delivery, delegation, or conversion. Production remains disabled until UAT is complete.
